Vinod Cheriyan

Biographical Profile

Vinod Cheriyan is the outgoing Chapter Representative on the Subdivisions Council where he spearheaded creation of the IRAC Guidelines and helped design the Chapter Excellence Award. He has served at INFORMS Chicago Chapter Board for the past 7 years, holding various officer positions including that of Chapter President. He is currently the DEIJ Officer for the Chapter. In his professional career, Vinod has been working in the intersection of analytics and engineering. Currently, he works as a Machine Learning Data Scientist at Stitch Fix, an online clothing retail and personalization company, where he builds OR and ML models that optimally match inventory to clients. Previously, he worked as a Senior Lead Data Scientist at Enova International, where he worked on enterprise-level data science projects including architecting an analytics-as-a-service solution. Prior to this, he worked as a Senior Consultant at Deloitte in their custom data warehousing space. Vinod has a Ph.D. in Operations Research from Georgia Institute of Technology. His undergraduate and master’s degrees were in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. Vinod is a recipient of the INFORMS Moving Spirit Award for outstanding service to the Chicago Chapter. He is also a recipient of Delotte’s outstanding performance award.
