Matthew Sobel, who joined the Yale Operations Research group in 1967 along with Don Topkis and Harvey Wagner, earned tenure but left Yale soon thereafter.

Arthur Swersey joined the Operations Research group shortly after it became part of the Yale School of Management in 1976. He earned tenure at SOM and was much-loved by students, who in 2018 endowed a classroom in his honor. He won the 2019 Yale SOM Alumni Relations Faculty Award for Outstanding Alumni Engagement.
