What is your favorite O.R. application?
The Unit Commitment Problem (deciding which electricity generators to use)
What is the best advice you can give to students in your field?
Follow your interests (I know that is very common advice, but there's a reason for that). If you want more specific advice, then I would recommend learning a little bit of measure theory.
If you had to work on only one project for the next year, what would it be?
I would work on an "out-of-the-box" general-purpose software for multi-stage stochastic, mixed integer programs.
What is something you learned in the last week?
The Grand Canyon National Park is entirely in Arizona.
If we were sitting here a year from now celebrating what a great year it's been for you, what would we be celebrating?
Almost everyone with a paper appearing in the INFORMS Journal on Computing would have attached data to their paper along with a couple of videos.
What would you name the autobiography of your life?
The Quest for Terse Grandiloquence.
